Drew Barrymore hit the Nylon Magazine/Express party red carpet wearing a $25 vintage metallic print dress. You guys know I’m drooling over this dress. Can you seriously believe that this dress was $25? Unbelievable. You couldn’t pay me to think that this was not a piece hot off the runway…handpicked by her stylist! Drew stumbled upon this fab dress at a second-hand shop in Austin, TX. It’s amazing how you can find such great pieces at the thrift store.
I am an avid thrift store shopper. I shop from the nearest Salvation Army to the furthest Neiman Marcus…I do not discriminate. I found this printed skirt for $1.87. I decided I loved it more as a dress, pulled it up…wrapped a belt around it and Voilà!
My dedicated Glam-Aholics should remember my post about mixing your highs with your lows. Well, Ms. Barrymore also lives by that rule. She paired her $25 thrifty dress with a pair of $760 Yves Saint Laurent ‘Tribute’ pumps.
Fashion has no price in my book 🙂
I had the same dress that Drew Barrymore has on that she bought in Texas for $25.00 although it looks more fabulous on her! I paid $500.00, or my husband did, from a boutique store in Phipps Plaza Mail in Atlanta, Ga in 1990. I believe the store has since closed. It’s hand painted and I loved wearing it. I donated it a long time ago and now seeing it on her I wish I didn’t. Oh well – I do still have pictures of me in it and that’s cool enough for me. Love you Drew Barrymore, we all do! You are a wonderful icon for our children today and we loved you in the Wedding Singer and just about every movie you did, you rock.
