This week’s Glam-Aholic goes hard. Rosco is one that does not need much of an introduction. Her style speaks volumes. You know how you see someone and know right then and there…they have “it”? That’s how I felt about her one night I saw her in the club wearing a skirt and a pair of Doc Martens. She does this. Rosco… A rebel with a fashionable cause.
Mia Ray: What does FASHION mean to you?
“fashion is a huge part of my heart. it’s for sure one of my babies. contrary to popular belief, the least exciting part of my day is when it’s time to put on clothes. i LOVE dressing others, but i’m not really a fan of dressing myself. but whatever, it’s a party. as far as fashion in general, it’s always at a stand still to me. there’s typically some trend, new ‘cool’ color or fad that the magazines are hipping us to. it lasts for about 2 to 3 months..then there’s something new. that’s bullsh*t. more people than not look the same for those couple months and it grosses me out a great deal. i think that’s why i stopped shopping in stores as much as i used to. i think that if everybody genuinely did whatever the heck they wanted to do without regards to the opinion of others, the world would be a much better place when it comes to fashion.”
Mia Ray: What are some of your favorite trends?
“yeah..i hate trends. all of them. i’m trying to think of one that i dig. wait. i totally dig the bf trend. i can wear boyfriend tees and tanks everyday actually. is that still a trend or did that pass? either way, i dig that a heap. some of my own trends..i love blazers, hoodies and sweatshirts. vintage or new, they work for me. i’m in love with boots. i’ve probably worn sandals about 10 times this summer. i have a fav pair of vintage cowboy boots that i wear daily [*roscoshrug* sue me] and i dig dr. martens a heap as well.”
Mia Ray: What are your top 3 FAV stores?
“well the thing is..i don’t think that have any favorite stores. favorite types of stores? let’s go…
#1. any and every vintage store that has every breathed a breath of old air.
#2. the goodwill. that place rocks my world in plenty ways.
#3. last but certainly not least, salvation army. totally boss.
i don’t shop much at all, [i don’t think] but when i do, i thrift. i grab my jeans from nordstrom but it’s for sure not one of my best stores. more like a necessity.”
Mia Ray: Are there any fashion tips you would like to share with Confessions Of A Glam-Aholic readers?
“a fashion tip that i have for others..be your freaking self!! nobody does it better, believe me. i know. step outside of your little box and live life a little. what better way to express yourself and your sense of style than through fashion? none i tell you, none!!!! just…do your own thing, you feel me? i’ve got nothing else. you’ll be much more of the shit once you’re comfortable in your own skin. promise :)”
Rosco was a breath of fresh air to the pages of Confessions. It doesn’t get any more real than that. A true example of how Glam-Aholics are versatile and one of a kind. We come in all forms of fashion. Remember originality is always key…not just when it comes to what you wear, but how you live.
In the words of Rosco:
“Do Epic shit.”
