‘Styles In The City’ is like a breath of fresh air for the Metro Detroit area. Living in such a concrete jungle, that’s not often looked as being “fashion forward”, can sometimes be discouraging to someone trying to break into the industry. This event shows that there are roses that bloom within our city limits. Produced by Ebony Rollins of ERollins Marketing Events, a weekend filled with activities will be sure to educate and inspire those who want to learn. ‘Styles In The City‘ is an event that you do not want to miss!
‘Styles In The City’ is geared towards designers. I felt the need to speak to the voices behind the scenes. The people that assemble the show, the models and the looks. The people whom voices are not always heard, but their work is most definitely seen front and center. The people that make the show happen from beginning to end.

Mia Ray: What are a few things we can expect from you and your team for ‘Styles In The City’? “I truly believe i have the BEST Styling team ever known! They work magic! lol Team work is extremely important to me, so I carefully selected each stylist & styling assistant based on how they would contribute to the TEAM. The STIC Styling team is the happy medium between fashion forward looks & the vision of each personal designers.”
Mia Ray: What were some of your inspirations for the direction you took for the show? “Styling for this show was a little difficult for me b/c the list of designers is so diverse. I would say most of the inspiration came from the Vision of of our City! Myself as well as the rest of the team is really focusing on ways to highlight designers while preparing them for the next level.”
Mia Ray: What do you think people will enjoy most from some of the looks that you’ve put together? “I think the audience will appreciate the diversity of the show. Many people tend to put Detroit’s fashion in a box but this years’ show will provide a glance at many DIFFERENT ‘Styles In The City’.”
Mia Ray: What are some of your favorite tools and products to use while styling? “I keep it pretty simple when it comes to my styling kit….. Double sided tape is my best friend! Double sided tape can fix just about any wardrobe malfunction you can think of! lol Rubber bands are a life saver and of course every stylist needs to come with a trunk FULL of accessories!”
Mia Ray: Do you have any final words of wisdon or advice for anyone who’s looking to break into the industry? When trying to “break into the industry” you have to be fearless! Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You cant be afraid of rejection & you have to believe in yourself! “Go Glamorous, Go Hard, Be Fearless!” -Daisy B
