Glam-Aholic’s Fairy godmother, June Ambrose, was responsible for all the fly fashion for the video. June and Jay have been working with each other since Hard Knock Life…that’s a lifetime of STYLE! Kanye’s own personal wardrobe stylist Renelou Padora, was also in house serving haute fashion. The inspiration for the looks? June wanted to keep it very simple and all American “less is more”. Jigga was definitely “Drug Dealer Chic” with his $400 custom snakeskin NY Yankee snap back. While Kanye let his arm full of Cartier & Hermes Bracelets get the glory…

On Jay-Z’s look: “The look was all-American. Americana.The jeans were stone-washed, we had a number of options but he went with Rocawear denim. And then we had a white tee with a Balmain patch and called it a day. It was a very simple aesthetic.”
“There’s so much storytelling in the record itself that we wanted the aesthetic to be simple,”
On Kanye’s look: “There might have been expectations that the video would be stylized, and Kanye is eccentric. They both kept it less is more.” Kanye here is wearing Balmain Jeans, a Thom Browne customized shirt and layered Alexander Wang tees. High fashion for sure, but all natural cotton.”
Big face Rollies, white t-shirts, denim & Air Jordans…I feel like Jay & Ye took it back to their roots 🙂
