As it appeared in my 4 Ways To Wear Your Favorite Blazer post, the “top” worn under my blazer paired with my grey maxi skirt isn’t actually a shirt…it’s a bra. Maybe closer to the style of a bustier…but for certain it’s an undergarment and I can’t believe I found such a great piece at the thrift store! Well, yeah I can. Of course thrifting is the best way to find one of a kind vintage pieces and with my slight obsession with 1950’s pin up girls, I knew it belonged in my closet…
I picked it up from one of my favorite local thrift shops Regeneration. And not only did they have this great piece, but also at a GREAT price. I only paid SIX dollars for it.
With such a deep V-cut, it’s nothing like anything I own and would be so useful when pairing with different bottoms as well as being worn under jackets & dresses. Immediately when I tried it on I felt sexy (which doesn’t happen often…I’m just not a sexy person), but like Marilyn Monroe or Jayne Mansfield primping in the mirror applying red lipstick HA! I need more of these in my life, I’m feeling a little antsy now…like maybe I want to start a vintage bra/bustier collection lol! I’m currently on the look out for more..
U hit the jackpot!!!!!!!!
I adore seeing what others thrift since I’m a thrift store addict. I have been wanting a similar item for the summer because I thought it would be cute for a date night with the hubby with high-waisted denim and a thin blazer. Can’t wait to see how you style this in other looks!
Thrift is the main reason behind my over abundance of clothes! Those one of a kind classic pieces are the truth & set you apart from the crowd! I simply adore 50s fashion – tiny waist with full skirts! Give it another shot in your search at Mother Flethcher’s in Ferndale!
