Maybe I should’ve named this post “Monday Motivation”, because that’s exactly the way I feel each time after I read this. Glam-Aholic Jessica E. sent me an email that literally had me in tears! This was a few months back, but it always seems to cross my mind when I get discouraged. So recently I went to read it AGAIN and I thought to myself…”self, we have to share this inspiration with the other Glam-Aholics!” Jessica’s words touched me so deep and I hope it does the same for you. You never know who may be watching you, or how far a few simple words or ways may help others…
In the words of Jessica…
“Hey Girl!
I’ve been meaning to send you this picture for awhile now but have been super busy, but while I was lounging I was like let me show her this! Lol! So a couple weeks ago I sat down and redesigned my vision board, as you know dreams shift and new visions come so I was taking down old stuff and putting up new stuff. And sure enough, your business card was sitting on my desk and as you can see I put it on my board!!! I put it up there because for me it represents taking a dream, running with it and making it happen no matter what! And it’s just a reminder of how a dream can come true. Being a full time successful working actor is my dream and although it gets rocky (I deal with a lot of rejection on a DAILY basis) I still refuse to give up. And having your card up there reminds me that my dreams are right around the corner!
You think i’m playing, but seriously before an audition or performance I pray first and then kind of chant “be glam, be fab, be you!” LOL! Like seriously! those small words for some reason have made a huge impact on me. I’ve always been a little insecure (okay alot). Always doubting if my acting was good enough, not feeling pretty enough, not feeling loved enough( you know the crap that gets stuck in our brain in order for us to fail.) But recently like within the past year and a half GOD has really been helping me to turn those negative thoughts around so that I can become the woman he has created me to be! So like seeing those words and saying them have helped me to continue to motivate myself to create, love myself, trust GOD, etc. I know it’s kind of deep but i’m so for real! It’s amazing what GOD uses (big or small) to wake us up and I know that he used you and your story to help spark something in me. So I just wanted to encourage you to keep up all the hard work, it doesn’t go unnoticed. I’m so proud of you!!! Don’t think that Glam-Aholic is just a fashion blog or clothing line, you have some anointing over there that can help impact lives. So that’s that, i just wanted you to know how you’ve helped a sista out lol! I hope all is well :-)”
